Couple Suspected In Live Oak Robberies

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A couple was arrested Saturday in Live Oak on first-degree robbery charges, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office.

Brent Wells, 31, of Santa Cruz, and his girlfriend, Emily Nelson, 28, of Los Gatos, were booked into jail early Saturday evening after being nabbed in the 1700 block of Chanticleer Avenue.

The arrests came after Wells caused a disturbance at a coffee shop in the area and then fled the establishment with stolen items, according to the sheriff's office.

Nelson was allegedly right down the street stealing items from a car. When confronted by a citizen, she brandished a knife, according to the sheriff's office.
