Man Arrested After Hidden Camera Found Inside Capitola Restroom

The camera recorded men, women and children unknowingly, officials said.

CAPITOLA, CA -- A man was arrested after a camera was found inside a popular coffee shop in Capitola. The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office said an employee at Verve Coffee Roasters found a camera pointed toward the toilet in its restroom on June 21.

An investigation showed the camera was there for about three hours from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., but recorded men, women and children unknowingly, officials said.

The investigation led to the arrest of Sage Savage, 35, who was served with a search warrant at his home where deputies also found videos of Savage in sex acts with women who may not have known they were recorded.

Savage was charged with sexual exploitation of a child, burglary and using a camcorder in a restroom.
