Man Dognaps Friend's Pup, Sheriff Says
Stolen dog Thor has not been found since a Soquel man offered to train him, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office said.
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A man is accused of stealing a friend's dog after charging him $1,500 for training services, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office said. Benjamin Friedenberg of Soquel was arrested March 12 on suspicion of grand theft and embezzlement charges.
The dog, Thor, remains missing.
Friedenberg refused to return him after the training period was over, the sheriff's office said in a statement. The sheriff's office said investigators contacted him but he would not say where Thor was.
