Second Harvest Food Bank's annual Holiday Food Drive Awards Celebration was an inspiring evening. Working together, 3.65 million meals were raised for the eldery, disabled, and working poor in our community. The festive event took place at Hotel Paradox in Santa Cruz.
Many outstanding individuals and organizations received awards. Special recognition went to 2014 Hunger Fighters Autumn and Simone Bushard and AR and Fred Pointer/
New Leaf Community Markets received a Special Promotions award. During this holiday season, New Leaf donated over two tons of nutritious Smart Chicken® to Second Harvest (over 10 tons since 2006). In addition, New Leaf Community Markets collected $10,835 in customer donations for the food bank.
