We provide the materials and directions - you pick them up and make them at home!

This project is a great introduction to electromagnetism, the force that not only helps pick up squished cars in junkyard wars, but is also responsible for a lot of the properties of matter in everyday life.

Registration is required. Kits will be ready to pick up at a requested branch on July 14th.

First come, first served. Registration will close when all kits are claimed.

These kits are suggested for children over age 8.

CHOKING HAZARD: This kit contains small pieces and is not suitable for young children without adult supervision. Adult assistance may be required for some children.

Required Materials:

Provided in Kit:

Cork
Battery
Nail
Magnet Wire
Aluminum foil
Googly Eyes (for decoration)
Pipe Cleaners (for decoration)

Needed from Home:

Masking or Electrical Tape
Elmer’s glue or Hot glue gun / hot glue (optional) (to attach Googly eyes)
Other decorative items to personalize your electromagnet
Stuff for Maggie to pick up!
