Unreported Stolen Car Found Damaged

Deputies found a newly damaged car parked, the sheriff's office said. It was stolen hours earlier but unreported.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office noticed a suspicious car parked near the end of a road and determined it was a car stolen hours earlier, but the theft went unreported, the sheriff's office said.

A deputy found the car while patrolling near La Selva Drive. It was parked at the end of the street, in an unusual area, and appeared to have fresh damage, the sheriff's office said.

The registered owner of the car was contacted.
