Wife Arrested After Aptos Man Dies In Stabbing
Amanda Owens, 51, was taken into custody following husband's death.

APTOS, CA — A woman has been arrested following the stabbing death of her husband at their Aptos home over the weekend.
The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office responded to a call Saturday around 12:55 p.m. about a stabbing at 125 Victoria Lane. When deputies arrived, they found Thomas Owens, 63, suffering from a stab wound. Medical aid was provided but he died from his injuries, according to sheriff's Sgt. Dee Baldwin.
Owens lived at the home with his wife, Amanda Montero Owens, 51. She was arrested on suspicion of murdering her husband and was booked into Santa Cruz County jail where her bail is set at $1,020,000, according to Baldwin.

An autopsy will be performed on Thomas to determine his cause and manner of death, Baldwin said.
