2nd Annual 'Learning to Lead’ Forum, May 21st, Dove Library

Carlsbad Educational Foundation's second annual “Learning to Lead” forum will be held Tuesday, May 21st, from 6:30-9:00 pm at the Dove Library’s Schulman Auditorium. Sponsored by CEF’s Student Leadership Council, this program will be led by 40 high school students from Sage Creek and Carlsbad High Schools to provide a platform for local leaders to share important life, career and leadership lessons. A great list of inventors, innovators, entrepreneurs and community advocates will help inform an engaging evening of learning and sharing.

“We are thrilled to host this year’s leadership forum, which is energized by the passion and purpose shared by our young leaders,” said Michelle Ginn, CEO of Carlsbad Educational Foundation. “The students are working hard to prepare an engaging evening that celebrates learning and leadership, which will appeal to students of all ages.”

Founded in 2016, CEF’s Student Leadership Council empowers students to unlock their leadership potential through alignment with four key pillars: local community-based non-profits, corporate community involvement, leadership development and student ambassadorship. SLC members gain hands-on leadership skills and practical, real-world experience through monthly meetings, leadership curriculum, special speakers, student advocacy and volunteerism.

During the “Learning to Lead” forum, students will share highlights of their own personal leadership journeys while applying what they’ve learned to interactive discussions with special guests, including:

The Carlsbad Educational Foundation (CEF) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that was founded in 1983, to raise private support for public education and contribute to the enrichment of nearly 11,000 students in the Carlsbad Unified School District.
