3 Bars Debut Cocktails Perfectly Paired With The Flower Fields

CARLSBAD, CA — The 2020 season has kicked off at The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch. And to mark the flowery extravaganza, running in peak season through mid-May, three area bars are serving up fresh, floral cocktails that may be worth a side-stop when visiting North County's blooming wonderland.

Mixologist teams at 20|Twenty at the Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa, 7 Mile Kitchen at Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa and The Cassara Kitchen and Bar at Hilton's Tapestry Collection took inspiration from the giant tecolote ranunculus and floral brilliance to craft the "Hibiscus Sour," the "Paloma in Bloom" and the "Lavender Lemon Twist."

The Hibiscus Sour, available at The Cassara Kitchen & Bar at the Tapestry Collection by Hilton, 5805 Armada Drive in Carlsbad, combines CaliFino Blanco tequila, hibiscus tea-infused syrup, aquafaba, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup and a rose-water spritz.

At 20|Twenty, located within The Westin Carlsbad Resort, 5480 Grand Pacific Drive, patrons can order the Paloma in Bloom, a blend of CaliFino Blanco, fresh grapefruit juice, elderflower liqueur, butterfly pea flower, agave nectar, finished with orange blossom-water spritz and topped with edible flowers and a grapefruit slice.

And the Lavender Lemon Twist is featured at 7 Mile Kitchen, Sheraton Carlsbad, 5420 Grand Pacific Drive. The cocktail melds Nolet’s Gin, Crème Yvette, fresh lemon juice, egg whites, lavender-infused simple syrup and rose-water spritz, with edible flowers and a lemon twist finish.
