The Army and Navy Academy’s President, retired Army Maj. Gen. Arthur Bartell, left, and Board of Trustees Chairman Barry Shreiar cut the ceremonial ribbon, opening the Academy’s new Student Enrichment Center building. Located on the eastern section of the school’s Carlsbad campus, the 4,800-square-foot multipurpose building will accommodate the JROTC program and provide space for classes, meetings, and social functions. The center is part of the Academy’s Master Infrastructure Plan, a long-term expansion and modernization program to modernize and add new classroom and housing facilities to accommodate additional cadets and on-site residential facilities for faculty and staff.

Founded in 1910, the Army and Navy Academy is a college preparatory boarding school for young men in grades 7 through 12. It is the only private boarding school in San Diego County and the only private military academy for high school-age students in California and surrounding states.
