Carlsbad Company Sends Employees to Volunteer with 1,100 Kids
Ninety prAna employees worked with children from San Diego-based charity Rolling Readers USA.
About 90 prAna employees volunteered with Rolling Readers USA last Friday at its new program in San Marcos.
prAna, an athletic apparel company based in Carlsbad, read books to more than 1,100 children at Alvin Dunn and Joli Ann Leichtag elementary schools. Rolling Readers—which provides weekly read-aloud volunteers and new books to children living in impoverished communities—recently expanded its program to San Marcos.
"We're thankful to have the support of a local company with a long history in North County," said Rolling Readers president and Patch associate regional editor Hoa Quach. "We're hopeful other companies will follow in prAna's footsteps and also support their local children."Â
