Carlsbad-Based Sleep Science Company Part of SLEEP 2021

SleepScore Labs is presenting its findings about the relationship between sleep and COVID-19 at the annual conference about sleep research.

CARLSBAD, CA — SleepScore Labs, a local c0mpany that studies the science of sleep, has a major presence this weekend at SLEEP 2021, a virtual conference where experts will present and discuss the latest innovations and developments in the fields of sleep research and medicine.

According to a release, the 35th-annual conference, which lasts from Thursday to Sunday, will bring together over 5,000 clinicians, scientists, healthcare providers and industry partners.

For the conference, SleepScore Labs has had abstracts accepted that include: big data analyses on the relationship between sleep and COVID-19 and research focused on measuring the specific impacts of consumer products on sleep.

Roy Raymann, principal sleep scientist and innovator and SleepScore Labs, said the scientific community has shown an increasing interest in consumer sleep technology, interventions targeting sleep and the use of big data in analyzing sleep.

"With our contributions to SLEEP 2021, we are guiding this trend and hope to see an increase in applied sleep research contributions in the coming years," Raymann said.

Founded in 2016 by a team that, according to its website, included television talk-show host Dr. Mehmet Oz, SleepScore Labs focuses on collecting real-world sleep data and completing scientific studies about sleep. Along with presenting its findings, SleepScore said it provides research to health and wellness brands with "a shared mission of improving the lives of millions through better sleep."

Additionally, SleepScore Labs has worked alongside other companies to develop technologies that help users improve their sleep. SleepScore Labs partnered with ResMed, the San Diego-based medical equipment company, to create the SleepScore sleep monitoring app.
