Carlsbad Cinema Series "Suffragette"

Brandon Cesmat, a film studies professor at California State University, San Marcos, will lead pre- and post-screening discussions for this.

Suffragette (2015, PG-13, 106 min.) is a drama of the early feminist movement. Realizing that peaceful protests were futile, women’s rights activists were forced to turn to radical and violent acts in the fight for equality. Geoff Bell, Helena Bonham Carter, Carey Mulligan, Meryl Streep and Sam West are just some of the talented cast in this period piece.
