Carlsbad Ranks Among Top 20 Safest U.S. Cities for Women: Report

The analysis studied factors such as crime, access to healthcare and public representation.

CARLSBAD, CA — The personal finance company ValuePenguin recently published its 2016 "Safest Cities for Women" report, and Carlsbad ranked 16th.

The company's analysis of the safest cities for women covered 261 major metros across 31 data points, studying "not only crime statistics but also availability and access to appropriate healthcare, cancer rates, education levels, workplace policies, female representation at the mayoral level as well as in the police force, conviction rates of offenders and income levels."

Here's a breakdown of how Carlsbad ranked among ValuePenguin's factor categories, with 1 being the best and 130 being average:
  • Overall, 16th
  • Crime, 26th
  • Public Policy and Representation, 26th
  • Healthcare, 101st
  • Education and Wealth, 85th
