Carlsbad Boy Wins Golf's Corey Pavin Invitational

CARLSBAD, CA — A Carlsbad teen was the top boy at this weekend's 8th annual Corey Pavin Invitational golf tournament at Bear Creek Golf Club.
Kasper Verwers, 15, was even to take first place on the boy's side, besting second-place finisher Connor Williams of Escondido, who was 1 over par.
On the girl's side, Elina Kuang of Murrieta shot 2 under par to best second-place finisher Kylie Chong of Torrance, who was 2 over par.

The tournament was held May 1-2 at the Jack Nicklaus-designed course in Murrieta.
Corey Pavin, the tournament’s legendary namesake, had a successful professional career winning the 1995 U.S. Open and an additional 15 PGA Tour victories. At age 61, he currently plays on the PGA Tour Champions.
