DUI Suspect Crashes Into Carlsbad Utility Box, Causes Power Outage Saturday
SDG&E reported an initial outage to about 2,800 customers in the La Costa area. Power was not fully restored to all customers until about 1:45 a.m. Sunday.

The culprit was a suspected drunk driver, who police say slammed into a utility box on Alga Road at Corintia Street at about 9 p.m. Saturday night.Â
According to U-T San Diego, a man in his 40s apparently lost control of his vehicle, swerved off the road and struck the box. He was not injured, but was taken to jail.Â
