Asked why she wasn’t eaten alive by the world's largest lizard she photographed on Indonesia's Komodo Island, Garrie Lynn Rhodes of Carlsbad replied: “I guess he wasn’t that hungry.”
Rhodes is a veteran exhibitor at the San Diego County Fair’s Exhibition of Photography, and Thursday night she was one of perhaps 600 to view the display at the annual artists reception.
Rhodes says she used a Nikon D300 to capture the Komodo dragon in a January visit.
How far away did she shoot the critter?
“Not far enough,” she said. “They’re pretty scary.”
