Legoland's Castle Hotel To Reopen Feb. 12 In Carlsbad

CARLSBAD, CA — Legoland's Castle Hotel is reopening its doors after being closed for the last two months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The hotel at Legoland California Resort in Carlsbad will reopen Feb. 12, the company announced Friday. The Legoland theme park and Sea Life Aquarium remain closed.

"As a father of young children, I understand the desire for families to want to get out of the house, be in a fun environment and enjoy spring while staying safe together as a family," Legoland California President Kurt Stocks said in a news release. "It's our goal to provide a safe atmosphere and I hope we can soon open up our theme park as well as Sea Life Aquarium for families to create memories together for years to come."

Hotel guests can enjoy an outdoor play structure, meet Legoland costume characters, and see movies outdoors at night. Guests will also have access to Miniland U.S.A. and The Big Shop.

As a safety precaution, the hotel will have reduced capacity, require cashless payments, implement enhanced cleaning regimes, and adhere to social distancing practices. Face coverings will be required for all hotel staff members and all guests 3 and older. Temperatures will also be taken upon check in.

Reservations can be made online, where guests can choose from three different room themes: Knights and Dragons, Royal Princess or Magic Wizard rooms. Breakfast take out, plus lunch and dinner take out and outside dining options are available, as well as an in-room treasure hunt for kids.
