Outstanding Vocal Entertainment Awaits At The 2018 Pop Show

Everyone is invited to experience an evening of singing, dancing, and award-winning performances by the talented students of Carlsbad High School’s Vocal Music Program. The 2018 Pop Show is the final concert of the season and gives the community a chance to see the first-place show choir sets and classical selections the students have performed throughout Southern California this year.

Encore, the intermediate women’s show choir, won first place at every competition this season. They will perform their award-winning set entitled “Magician.” Chamber Singers, the advanced mixed choir, will perform contemporary a capella pieces. Sound Express, the advanced mixed show choir, will perform their first-place show choir set entitled “Dream,” and Lancer choir, the beginning mixed choir, will perform a Newsies Medley. There will be popular favorites performed by all choirs, along with specially selected solo and group acts. Saturday’s evening concert will mark the farewell performance for the CHS choral seniors.
The 2018 Pop Show takes place on June 1 at 7 pm and June 2 at 2 pm and 7 pm with a pre-show one hour before showtime. Advanced sale, reserved seat tickets are $15 online at http://www.itsmyseat.com/CHSPop/or at the box office before each show, subject to availability. Students (K-12) and faculty may purchase same-day tickets at the box office for $8. All proceeds directly benefit Carlsbad High School choirs.

Under the direction of Grammy Music Educator quarterfinalist, Mr. Jessie Bullock, the students in the vocal music program not only learn how to hone their musical skills but they learn about discipline, responsibility, and how to be good citizens where ever they go. Mr. Bullock’s goal is to highlight the best in all of his students, instill a mindset of growth, and foster the desire to improve with each opportunity. Mr. Bullock brings a wealth of experience, energy and enthusiasm to the CHS choral family.

Carlsbad High School’s Vocal Music Program is one of the few remaining programs in all of San Diego County. This program strives to promote awareness, appreciation, and expression of the arts in the community. The CHS Choral Boosters are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the students in the vocal music program at Carlsbad High School.
