San Diego County Offers Spay, Neuter Discounts For Cats

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA – In honor of Spay Day USA on Feb. 27, San Diego County Animal Services is offering coupons so cat owners can spay or neuter their pets. While supplies last, $100 spay and $50 neuter discount coupons are available now through Feb. 28.

"We strongly urge cat owners to spay or neuter their pets," said County Animal Services Director Daniel DeSousa. "Many people love kittens but not everyone can adopt them; the best way to lower the number of unwanted pets is by spaying and neutering."

Coupons are available to residents in the unincorporated areas of the county and the cities of San Diego, Santee, Carlsbad, Solana Beach, Encinitas and Del Mar. Pet owners may receive a larger discount – even free services – for using a veterinarian listed on County Animal Services website.

Residents can pick up the coupons from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. now through Sunday at any one of the three animal shelters in Bonita, Carlsbad and San Diego. The coupons must be used within 60 days and returned to County Animal Services within 30 days of being used so pet owners can be reimbursed.
