Superhero Obstacle Course Racing Into Carlsbad Oct. 2

Perfect for adventure-seeking families.

CARLSBAD, CA — Dress up like a super hero and come out to the park for the third annual "Super Hero Obstacle Race," to be held from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2 at Alga Norte Community Park, 6565 Alicante Road. Parents and children will run together through a super hero themed 2K obstacle course while dressed in super hero costumes.

Defeat villains while leaping over tall buildings, crawl through toxic tunnels and navigate through 20 obstacles throughout the park. Conquer inflatable mazes and slides, wrecking balls, tight ropes, web crawlers and other obstacles along the way. The race will take approximately one hour to complete.

Rachael Shay, special events supervisor, said the race is designed for adventure seeking families.

"We emphasize fitness but more importantly, we emphasize fun at this high-energy event," Shay said.

Everyone is a winner and each participant will receive a free superhero cape, bib and finishing medal.

"It's a great way for families to stay connected," Shay said, adding, "This race encourages partnership and teamwork in a non-competitive environment."

Siblings, caregivers, grandparents and friends can also participate in lieu of parents and each participant must register. Cost is $25 per participant. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
