Where To Snag These Cutie-Pie Cupcakes On Pi Day In Carlsbad

CARLSBAD, CA — "Pi Day," math fanatics' day to celebrate the Pi approximate 3.14, this year falls on a Saturday — March 14.

The national significance of Pi Day now extends beyond a fan base of "number nerds." In 2009, the U.S. House of Representatives passed “H.Res.224 - Supporting the designation of Pi Day,” according to the U.S. Department of Commerce, making it a day to recognize the National Science Foundation’s math and science education programs, Pi and mathematics lessons.

For those no longer in school, however, the magical 3.14 translates into "pie" steals and deals —including this one offered by California locales of bakery chain SusieCakes, and offered at the shop in Carlsbad.

Bakers at SusieCakes are prepping to fulfill your pi(e)-themed cravings.

On March 14 only, the shop will serve its signature lineup of 9-inch pies, including Cherry Crumble and Coconut Cream, with a $3.14 discount, along with offering super cute, limited-edition pi(e)-themed cupcakes. (See photo.)

The hand-designed, cupcakes are available in two flavors: chocolate with vanilla buttercream; and vanilla with vanilla buttercream.

Do note, however, the $3.14 discount on the 9-inch pies is limited to five pies per person, and the offer is only valid for same-day orders, phone-in or walk-in guests.

We have grandmas Mildred and Madeline to thank for this Pi Day special!
