WTA Southern California Open May Not Return to La Costa Next Year
Lack of sponsorship could prevent the event from returning, after there was no title sponsor this year. Mercury Insurance had sponsored the tour event for the last three years.

On Sunday, the Womens' Tennis Association wrapped up another successful tour stop, as Samntha Stosur captured the singles title at the Southern California Open at La Costa Resort & Spa.
However, the WTA may not be returning to Carlsbad for the 2014 season, according to U-T San Diego.
Tournament director Alastair Garland told the newspaper that it's "premature," to say the event will return to La Costa, despite it being on the provisional 2014 calendar.
“If we can keep it here, we will keep it here,” said Garland.
