2 East Bay Students Receive $5,000 Scholarships

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Two East Bay students each received $5,000 scholarships from the Giants Community Fund earlier this month. They're among ten young athletes to receive the awards.

Daniel Rodriguez of Antioch and Elijah Ramirez of Newark attended a ceremony at home plate at Oracle Park on Aug. 10 where they received their scholarships.

Students were chosen based on their leadership skills, character, academic potential and Junior Giants involvement.

This year’s ten scholars are:

  • Daniel Rodriguez, Antioch
  • Caydence Rodriguez, Lodi
  • Micheline Ma, Milpitas
  • Michael Medina, Milpitas
  • Isabel Rodriguez, Morgan Hill
  • Elijah Ramirez, Newark
  • Garrett Juretic, San Luis Obispo
  • Caden Kalagayan, San Bruno
  • Isiah Sneed, San Bruno
  • Iris Cruz, Stockton

Since its inception in 1991, the Giants Community Fund has donated more than $30 million to community programs.
