4.0 Earthquake Rattles East Bay
The earthquake was reported at around 6:30 p.m. Did You feel it?
SAN LORENZO, CA— A magnitude 4.0 earthquake struck near San Lorenzo around 6:30 p.m. Monday according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake was felt throughout much of the Bay Area. It is not yet known if the quake caused any injuries or property damage.
The quake was initially reported by the USGS as a 4.1 but has since been downgraded.

It came on the anniversary of two of the biggest quakes in recorded history occurring on the same day.
Seismologist Dr. Alice-Agnes Gabriel tweeted earlier in the day that the 7.3 magnitude Landers earthquake struck in the Mojave Desert and a 6.5 Big Bear Lake quake both occurred June 28, 1992.
