$4K Raised For Local Food Bank By Hayward Food Source

Nonprofit Raley's Food for Families raised a record $2.1 million total this year from customers, vendors and staff.

HAYWARD, CA — Customers, suppliers and staff at the Hayward Food Source supermarket raised $4,221 for hungry area residents as part of the grocery chain's annual holiday drive, Raley's Food For Families.

The store, at 26905 Mission Blvd., is owned by the Raley's chain.

Raley's Food For Families is a nonprofit organization that partners with 12 food banks in Northern California and Nevada — where the chain's stores are located — in hopes to reach the 1.4 million food-insecure people in those communities, Raley's wrote in a press release. The nonprofit worked with food banks to create holiday bags that reflect the needs of local customers.
