Alameda County Arts Commission to Host Grant Workshops

The Alameda County Arts Commission announces the 2017 ARTSFUND Grants Program Application Deadline will be on Wednesday, March 1.

From the Alameda County Arts Commission: The Alameda County Arts Commission announces the 2017 ARTSFUND Grants Program for Alameda County-based nonprofit organizations. Information can be found at the Arts Commission website (click on “Programs”). Standard grants awards are $1,000 - $2,000 each. The application deadline is March 1, 2017.

The ARTSFUND Grants Program supports all types of arts programming such as dance, literature, media arts, music, theater, visual arts, and multidisciplinary arts programs presented in Alameda County by Alameda County nonprofit organizations. Last year’s ARTSFUND program awarded grants to 38 nonprofit organizations throughout Alameda County. During the 2017 funding cycle, between 35-45 arts organizations may be awarded grants ranging in size from $1,000 - $2,000. The Alameda County Arts Commission, a division of the County of Alameda, is dedicated to improving the quality of life in Alameda County by nurturing a thriving environment for the arts, promoting economic opportunities for Alameda County’s artists and arts organizations, and encouraging public participation in the arts.

The Arts Commission staff will host three free workshops to assist organizations in preparing their grant applications. Workshops will be held on Wednesday, January 4 from 5:30 – 7:00pm at the Livermore Community Center in Livermore; Wednesday, January 18 from 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the Fremont Main Library in Fremont; Thursday, January 19 from 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the Alameda County Lakeside Plaza Building in Oakland. Workshops are free, open to the public, and no reservation is required. The workshop information is also featured in a new Informational Video available online.

Funding for the ARTSFUND Grants Program is provided by the County of Alameda, individual contributions submitted with County property tax payments, and donations to the Foundation for the Arts in Alameda County.
