A portion of the proceeds will be donated to various youth groups in the community.

The exact location of the car show is Castro Valley Boulevard, between Redwood Road and San Miguel Avenue. It is hosted by the Hayward Castro Valley Moose Lodge and sponsored by Project RIDE, a statewide volunteer network of young adult car enthusiasts aged 18-25. Project RIDE pushed to have the event tobacco free. “This is a major milestone as events in unincorporated areas of Alameda County do not have complete prohibitions on smoking or using e-cigarettes. Second hand smoke is one ofthe leading causes of preventable death in the U.S. More young people are using e-cigarettes too, which recent studies show, that the vapor and liquids in e-cigarettes have been shown to have cancercausing chemicals as well as metals. Completely smoke free events like this enhance the health of our local communities.” according to Paul Escobar, Project Coordinator of RIDE.
