Chabot Basketball Report: Gladiators Win Consolation Title

CHABOT MEN’S BASKETBALL
The Gladiators (6-1) rebounded from their lone loss of the season to win two straight and claim the Consolation Championship of the Shasta Tournament.
Chabot defeated American River 69-61 in the consolation final after routing Siskiyous 81-47 in the consolation bracket. The Gladiators saw their four-game winning streak snapped with a 64-54 loss to Santa Rosa in the first round.

The Gladiators showed impressive depth against American River as Jabari Sweet came off the bench to score a team-high 15 points and Ryan Parrilla stepped up to score 14. Chabot rallied from a four-point deficit to outscore American River 35-23 after intermission.

The Gladiators, who opened the season with six consecutive wins, dropped back-to-back games in the Moorpark Crossover tournament at Moorpark College. Chabot fell to LA Trade-Tech 91-73 and Palomar 65-54.
Nyah Willis (14 points) and Zakiya Mahoney (10) both had double figures for Chabot (6-2) against Palomar.
Mahoney had a big game against LA Trade-Tech with 18 points, 20 rebounds and four assists. Willis had a team-high 22 points along with nine rebounds.
