Chabot-Las Positas Community College Board Names Vice Chancellor

Mr. Jonah Nicholas began serving as vice chancellor of business services Nov. 9.

On October 20, 2020, at its regularly scheduled Board meeting, the Board of Trustees of the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District (CLPCCD) named Mr. Jonah Nicholas vice chancellor of business services, effective Monday, November 9th.

Nicholas has over 14 years of experience in higher education in both California and Washington. Serving as the chief financial officer at Contra Costa Community College District for many years, Nicholas not only provided leadership over areas including accounting, budget, purchasing and payroll, he was an instrumental team member in other areas such as bond issuance and debt management, negotiations, post-employment benefit obligation funding, accreditation, College and Career Access Pathways, and supporting diversity initiatives. Prior, Nicholas served as director of fiscal services at Wenatchee Valley College.

Nicholas earned a master of business administration degree from Washington State University and a bachelor's degree from Central Washington University.
