CV Track Star Named Gatorade Athlete of Year

Castro Valley High School track and field standout Sasha Wallace, who Patch featured in a story earlier this month, was named the California Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Year this week, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

This is the second year in a row that Wallace has received the honor, the story said. She is a standout in the 100 meter hurdles and the triple jump. This spring she won California Interscholastic Federation state championship titles for the second year in a row in both events.
