Fight At Castro Valley High: Fluke or Trend?

A fight at Castro Valley High School that occurred on March 12 was unusual, according to an article in The Olympian student newspaper.

What stood out was the number of individuals involved (six girls) and the fact that Principal Mary Ann Valles was struck while trying to break up the melee, the article said.

The students involved were suspended, and the Alameda County Sheriff's Department is studying videos taken of the fight, which started with a look that prompted an exchange of words.
