Free Immigration Legal Services Offered At Chabot College
The college is partnering with the East Bay Community Law Center to provide free immigration legal services and cover filing fees for some.
HAYWARD, CA — Chabot College students can now access free immigration legal services and apply for protection under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Act for free, provided through a partnership between Chabot College Dream Center and the East Bay Community Law Center.
The law center offers 32 free appointments per month for any California community college student seeking legal service for immigration issues. On a first-come, first-served basis, the non-profit will also offer grants to cover the $495 filing fee for initial or renewal applications to the DACA program.
The offer is part of a state-wide initiative to provide free immigration legal service for California community college students and is funded by the California Department of Social Services through the end of 2022.
