Free McDonald's Breakfast Offered To Kids on Tuesday

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA — In celebration of the new school year, McDonald's is offering a free breakfast to all school children in grades kindergarten - 8 on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 6:30 - 9:30 a.m.

Each child, accompanied by an adult, will receive an Egg McMuffin, apple slices and 1 percent low fat milk, free of charge.

"Research continues to show that breakfast is important not only for children's health, but for academic achievement, cognitive development and mental health," said Alice Fagundes, MS, RDN, FAND, CDE and California Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation Chair. "This is a great program to celebrate the busy back-to-school season as McDonald's provides a wide array of breakfast options for families on the go."

The Egg McMuffin includes an egg, Canadian bacon and American cheese on an Engish muffin.

"McDonald's is proud to offer a wide array of balanced breakfast options for the entire family," said Gino Potesta, Vice President and General Manager of McDonald's Pacific Sierra Region in Northern California and Northern Nevada. "We are once again excited to help families in our communities make their mornings special and start their school days with a healthy meal."

The free breakfast is offered at participating McDonald's restaurants in the Bay Area and greater Sacramento area.
