World Naked Gardening Day is traditionally celebrated the first Saturday in May.

“Gardening naked is not only a simple joy," says the organization's website. "It reminds us — even if only for those few sun-kissed minutes — that we can be honest with who we are as humans and as part of this planet.”

The event's founder, Mark Storey, says it's OK to wear a hat, gloves and/or shoes. You need to be practical about these things, after all. The event began in Seattle.
