Habit Burger Grill To Open In Castro Valley

CASTRO VALLEY, CA – A Habit Burger Grill opens next week in Castro Valley, and there are bonuses for those who join the eatery's online Char-club.

Located in the Castro Valley Shopping Center at 3650 Village Drive, the 2,400-square-foot restaurant opens May 2.

The local CharClub members will receive invitations to partake in any of three pre-opening events, including:

• Free Burger Day: The first 200 guests in line will receive a free Charburger, fries and a drink.
• Free Habit Day: The first 200 guests in line will receive a chargrilled meal from the menu.

Also planned as part of Habit Burger’s community outreach, area residents can attend a fundraising event on Sunday, April 29, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. that supports Castro Valley High School, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the school.

The Castro Valley Habit will seat 62 people, with additional patio seating for 28, and will be open Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The Habit serves hand-cut salads, grilled sandwiches, including line-caught, sushi-grade ahi tuna, fresh chicken and hand-filleted marinated grilled tri-tip, and sides including onion rings, sweet potato and French fries, and tempura green beans. Guests can choose from a variety of peppers, lemons, limes and sauces at a condiment bar to customize the flavor of their meals.

Founded in Santa Barbara in 1969, Habit perhaps is known for its Charburger, which features fresh ground beef grilled over an open flame and topped with melted cheese, caramelized onions, pickles, tomato, lettuce and mayo served on a toasted bun.
