HAYWARD, CA — A man who was fatally shot outside of a motel in Hayward early Sunday morning has been identified by police as 42-year-old Brent Vicens of Hayward.
Hayward police said Vicens was standing in front of the Vagabond Inn at 500 W. A St. shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday when he was shot several times by an occupant of a dark four-door sedan that had pulled up to that
location.
Vicens was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.

His death is Hayward's first homicide in 2018.
The suspect in the fatal shooting is still at large and is described by police as a Hispanic man in his 30s or 40s with black hair and brown eyes who was wearing framed glasses.
