HAYWARD, CA — A shooting took the life of a Hayward man Wednesday night in East Oakland, police said Thursday.
Officers were sent at 8:38 p.m. to the 5700 block of Trask Street after ShotSpotter gunshot detection technology recorded the sound of shots and some people called police to tell them a person had been shot.
Officers located the man with a bullet wound. He was taken to a hospital but died from his injuries, according to police.

The man's name is not being released until his family is notified, police said.
