Hayward Police Log: Cigarette Robbery, Marijuana Grow Operation, Recovered Stolen Motorcycle

Oct. 7, 9:32 p.m.
- A robbery occurred at 27467 Manon Ave. The victim was drinking with two acquaintances at his apartment. Without provocation, the two acquaintances began to punch and kick the victim. During the attack one of the suspects took money from the victim; who suffered a broken nose and had several teeth knocked out as a result of the assault. Both suspects are described as Guatemalan males, 16-20 years old, 5’6” and 125lbs. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Hayward Police Investigations Division at (510) 293-7034.

- An assault with a deadly weapon occurred on the 22000 block of Lucia St. Two subjects were standing in front of their home when the suspect approached them on foot. The suspect produced a handgun and fired multiple rounds at the victims; however the rounds struck the residence and a parked vehicle. Several shell casings were recovered at the scene, and the suspect was last seen fleeing on foot northbound on Thelma Ave. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male juvenile, late teens; last wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. - Two suspects were arrested for transportation/possession for sales of narcotics in the area of Sixth St. and C St. Patrol officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a vehicle code violation. The passenger was on probation, and had an outstanding arrest warrant, for assault with a deadly weapon. Inside the vehicle the officers located a large quantity of marijuana and heroin. Both suspects were arrested on numerous drug charges.
Oct. 9, 3:30 a.m.
- An armed robbery occurred at 720 W. Tennyson Rd. (Rotten Robbies Gas Station). A delivery driver was stocking the store with cigarettes when the suspect approached him. The suspect brandished a handgun at the delivery driver and stole approximately $1,500.00 worth of cigarettes. The suspect fled in a 1990’s grey Volvo station wagon. The suspect is described as a Black male, 40-49 years old, 6’2”, 250lbs; he was wearing a black beanie, black hooded sweatshirt and black pants. Oct 9, 4:35 p.m.
- A firearm was recovered in the area of Tennyson Rd. and Mission Blvd. The Special Duty Unit (SDU) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a vehicle code violation. The driver of the vehicle was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant, and subsequently arrested. Inside the vehicle officers located a loaded .40 caliber handgun with the serial number filed off.
Oct. 10, 8 a.m.
- A marijuana grow operation was conducted throughout Hayward, San Lorenzo and San Leandro. Hayward PD, in conjunction with Alameda County Narcotics Task Force (NCNTF), San Leandro PD and DEA served 13 search warrants related to marijuana grows in single family homes. Marijuana grows were located in 11 locations, 13 suspects arrested, 1,750 plants recovered and $15,000.00 in cash seized.
Oct. 11, 12:25 p.m.
- A body was found along the Hayward Shoreline between Highway 92 and Coyote Hills. A wildlife biologist was working in the shoreline marsh and discovered the body in a tributary that runs into the bay. The body was in a state of decomposition and their identity is unknown. Alameda County Coroner’s Office responded and took custody of the body. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Hayward Police Investigations Division at (510) 293-7034.
Oct. 11, 7:30 p.m.
- An armed robbery occurred at 27400 Tampa Ave. The victim was walking past the address when the suspect approached her on foot. The suspect pointed a handgun at the victim and stole her purse. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 23 years old, 5’5”, thin build; he was wearing a dark sweatshirt and dark pants. Oct. 11, 11:29 p.m.
- An armed robbery occurred on Calaroga Ave. Three females were traveling in a vehicle, when they stopped for engine trouble. Two females got out of the vehicle, but the driver stayed inside. Two suspects approach them on foot; one suspect stood with the females outside the vehicle, and the second suspect approached the driver. The suspect brandished a handgun at the driver and took her purse. The second suspect did not rob the other two females, and both suspects fled on foot westbound on Turner Ct. The suspects are described as unknown race males, 6’0” and medium build; one was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and the second was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt. Oct. 12, 5:21 a.m.
- A recovered stolen vehicle is located in front of the Internet Café on Main St. A patrol officer noticed a motorcycle parked in front of the business and a records check shows the motorcycle as reported stolen. While waiting for additional officers to respond the suspect drives off. The patrol officer follows the suspect and found he crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of B St. and Mission Blvd. The suspect was arrested for the stolen motorcycle and he was found to have outstanding arrest warrants for stolen vehicles, evading the police and parole violation.
Oct. 13, 8:11 a.m.
- A home invasion robbery occurred on the 21000 block of Western Blvd. Three suspects enter the victim’s residence; two armed with handguns, and tape his hands, mouth and feet. Suspects then steal money, jewelry and electronics from the residence. Suspect #1 is described as a Black male, 20-29 years old, 5’6”-5’9”, 160lbs, long dreadlocks and light goatee; last wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. Suspect #2 is a White or Hispanic male, 20-29 years old, 5’10”, 250-300lbs and short brown hair. Suspect #3 is a Black male, 20-29 years old, 5’10”, thin build and short dreadlocks; last wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
