Letter to the Editor: Being Labeled as a 'Bigot' for Taking a Stand on Traditional Marriage
Reader Teddy Demopoulos writes about the legalization of gay marriage and what one seems to be labeled as if one goes against it.

Why is it that even though the voters of California voted against legalizing gay marriage, the liberals in Sacramento are pushing hard for it to become legal in our state?
I just do not understand, we hire public servants. . . not dictators. Why can they not just simply say "the people have spoken" and move on?

Why is it that today you are a bigot if you take a stand on preserving traditional marriage?
If you think gay marriage should be legal, and you call one who does not share your opinion a bigot, are you not also a bigot for being narrow minded and not listening to the other side?

If our state senator and state assembly member are among those in Sacramento who chose not to listen to the voice of the majority and are in Sacramento pushing for gay marriage, I think it is logical to vote them out.
Maybe then they will understand what it means when the people of California speak.
