National Story Calls Local Designer "Monument Man"

Michael L. Emerson, a driving force behind the Castro Valley Veterans Memorial, is featured in The American Legion Magazine for planning and designing some of the nation’s newest monuments.

Emerson is a Marine Corps veteran of Desert Storm and a member of American Legion Post 649 in Castro Valley.

In an article titled "Monument Man" (read it here), Emerson looks ahead to current project, a plan to build a 9/11 Memorial in Hayward.

Emerson says he will meet with Hayward city planners tonight at 7PM seeking approval of the Memorial's design in the City's council chamber
