New Principal Named For Creekside Middle School

Ms. Shih is replacing Ms. Jaliza Eagles who has served as the Creekside Principal for the last six years.

Castro Valley, CA – (May 18, 2021) – At tonight’s Special Board Meeting, the Castro Valley Unified School District Board of Education took action to select Ms Susan Shih for the position of Principal of Creekside Middle School. Ms. Shih is replacing Ms. Jaliza Eagles who has served as the Creekside Principal for the last six years.

Ms. Shih has been the Assistant Principal at Castro Valley High School since July 2020. Prior to joining the Castro Valley team, Ms. Shih worked in Mt. Diablo Unified School District for 13 years. While in Mt. Diablo, Ms. Shih was a Student Services Coordinator for both middle school and high school students. She served as Middle School Summer School Principal and Assistant Principal at El Dorado Middle School and Ygnacio Valley High School. Prior to her career in public education, Ms. Shih was a Psychiatric Social Worker.

Ms. Shih earned her Bachelor Degree in Psychology and Social Welfare and Master’s degree in Social Welfare at University of California, Berkeley. Her Administrative Credential in Educational Leadership was completed at California State University, East Bay.
