HAYWARD, CA — A pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle on westbound state Highway 92 in Hayward late Monday night was identified by the Alameda County coroner's bureau as 33-year-old Ricardo Edson Merel.
No address was listed for Merel.
The CHP said the collision was reported at 11:49 p.m. Monday near a construction closure on the freeway and Merel was pronounced dead at the scene.
