HAYWARD, CA — One person died when a Capitol Corridor train hit them Tuesday evening in Hayward, according to Amtrak and an Alameda County sheriff's spokesman.
Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari said he was notified at 6:19 p.m. Pacific time of the collision.
Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Ray Kelly said it happened near Leidig Street in Hayward.
