Lion's Breath - Yoga for Kids!

It's very normal to have a rainbow of emotions. No emotion should be ignored or shut down. Sometimes, though, when we become sad, frustrated, or angry, we hold on to these feelings a little too long, even past the point where they are serving a purpose. They get stuck in our mind, body, and heart. Lion's Breath is a super fun way to let them go. Kids LOVE this pose!

    • Sit in a comfortable position (lotus, crisscross apple sauce, hero pose).
    • Be tall in your wonderful body and feel proud like a lion.
    • Put all those stuck feelings in your hands and close them up tight.
    • Now, close your eyes and take a deep breath though your nose right into your belly.
    • Now go ahead and let out a BIG roar! Stick your tongue WAY out! Make your eyes really BIG!
    • When you roar, open your hands and let those unwanted feelings out!
    • Try doing it 3 times in a row. How did that feel?
