
HAYWARD, CA — A Sig-alert for southbound Interstate Highway 880 in Hayward has been lifted after a two-vehicle traffic collision caused both vehicles to catch on fire and forced two lanes to close early this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP said the alert was lifted around 6:20 a.m. today. The collision occurred just after 5:10 a.m., when the vehicles collided just north of Davis Street.
The collision blocked the No. 4 and 5 lanes, but the No. 1, 2 and 3 lanes remained open for traffic.
