Teen Killed in Centennial Park Identified

By Bay City News

A teenage boy who was killed in Hayward's Centennial Park on Monday afternoon has been identified by the Alameda County coroner's bureau as 16-year-old Kristofer Prasinos.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired at the park, located in the 24000 block of Amador Street, around 3:30 p.m. Monday, police said.

Prasinos, a Hayward resident, was found by officers in the park's baseball diamond. He was transported to a hospital where he died from his injuries, according to police.

Police initially said Prasinos was 17, but a coroner's employee said today he was actually 16.

On Tuesday, police arrested two Hayward boys, ages 16 and 17, in connection with the killing after investigators tracked them to Modesto, police said.

Police said one teen was briefly taken to a hospital after complaining of nausea.

Both have been booked into Juvenile Hall in San Leandro.

The suspects' names are being withheld because of their age.
