A vegetation fire on a grassy hill near Garin/Dry Creek Pioneer
Regional Parks outside of Hayward has been contained this afternoon, according to Alameda County fire officials.

Alameda County fire crews were dispatched to the Hayward-Union City border near Tamarack Drive and Castro Street just before 3:10 p.m., fire spokeswoman Aisha Knowles said.

Around 5 p.m. the fire was contained to about 4 acres and crews were starting to leave the scene shortly thereafter.

No injuries were reported in the blaze, and no structures were threatened or damaged, Knowles said.
