The seven artists utilize a broad range of media including acrylic, oil, collage, hand-dyed fabric,
experimental photography, pen, ink and watercolor. Their works include representational images from
nature and abstracted imagery suggesting the natural world. The sun convincingly reflects off the rocks
in Gerald Thompson’s Mojave Lava and fills the kitchen window with light in Debra Collins’ End of
Summer, Mendocino. Sally Lampi’s Abstract Doodle Series and Lynne Shephard’s Bird’s Eye View Series
are reminiscent of flattened landscapes viewed from an airplane window. Mercie Harris and Niambi Kee
include bits of paper or fabric in their overall textural compositions. Nick Calarco’s Patterns in Spring, a
color print, almost looks like it was painted, with similar organic forms as seen in Sally Lampi’s Abstract
Doodles.
