Crews Repairing Gas Leak on Beverly Glen Boulevard
The leak was reported earlier Tuesday. Crews from the gas company and firefighters are in the area.

Update, 4 p.m.: Crews are making permanent repairs and restoring service to affected customers. The street has been reopened.
Earlier: A damaged gas main near Beverly Glen Boulevard has caused a gas leak in the surrounding neighborhood, and crews from Southern California Gas Company are working to repair the damage.
Firefighters and gas company workers are on the scene near the intersection of Beverly Glen Boulevard and Wilkins Avenue. No fire or injuries have been reported, and five customers in the area are without service, said Denise King, spokeswoman for the gas company.

"Crews are working to excavate on each side of the line where it was hit and then we'll shut the gas down, pinch the pipe on both sides to stop the flow of the gas and then we'll proceed to repair the line," King said.
The line will be repaired by the end of the day, King said. Wilkins Avenue is closed at Beverly Glen Boulevard.
